Monroe is a city in Snohomish County. There are many activities near Monroe bed and breakfasts. Its Evergreen State Fair takes place at the Evergreen State Fairgrounds and includes both exhibits by the 4H Club and the Butler Amusements Carnival. The Society for Creative Anachronism's Renaissance Faire also takes place at the Evergreen State Fairgrounds. It is made up of one part craft fair, one part historical reinactment, and one part performance art. The Washington Serpentarium is home to "The Reptile Man" and the only albino alligator in the Pacific Northwest. It is located only 1 mile east of Monroe, is open 365 days a year, and has 10 different snakes which children can hold. The Monroe Historical Society Museum is located in the Original Monroe City Hall building and contains resources relating to Monroe-area history. For some food near your Monroe B&B or inn: Ape Espresso features specialty coffee drinks to warm you up on those cold Monroe days and Ixtapa Restaurant is popular with locals for its Mexican food.
