The city of Langley is located on Whidby Island. Every third weekend in February in Langley is Mystery Weekend, where local residents stage a murder and invite all 800-1000 tourists that visit the city during those weekends to help solve the crime. Each July also sees the annual Choochokam Music and Arts Festival, where local musicians and bands play for the more than 10,000 people that attend the event each year and for the executives at Allikat Records, who always look for new talent to sign during the festival.
