Nestled in Central Kansas, two miles from the main north-south artery, I-135, is the town of Moundridge - the home of many Moundridge bed and breakfasts. Old Fashioned Christmas in Moundridge is held annually, the Saturday before Thanksgiving and is Moundridge's ultimate celebration to kick-off the holiday season. Surrey rides, open houses, great meals, ethnic foods, prize drawings, raffles, tours, musical entertainment and bake sales throughout town all happen during this celebration. Homestead Trail Celebration will be held October 10 at the Cole House Museum. Come join the community celebration with activities including a bon fire, old time music and games, blacksmith, weaving and quilting demonstrations, mountain man camp, horse rides, hay rack rides, a cake walk, food and everything needed for a fun-filled look into the past. In the mid 1800s the first trains began to come through Moundridge and the train depot became the town’s symbol and the center of activity. With the introduction of motorized trucks and buses, the importance of trains faded and in 1986 the depot in Moundridge was moved to its present location. If you get hungry while visiting this historical town of Moundridge, try the Country Kitchen restaurant with a great local atomosphere. For great Italian food try Dangelos Pizzeria. You will definitely want to visit a Moundridge inn and B&B and then just relax after a long day of sight-seeing!!
